The differentiation between anxiety and depression seems nonexistent or incomprehensible to majority of population but they are indeed very different. While experts have created specific diagnoses for various kinds of disorders, the fact remains that many disorders have a great deal of overlap, which can make it rather tricky to differentiate between two separate problems.

One of the most common issues that people have is trying to identify the difference among anxiety and depression. Although they both consist a lot in similarity, they are different issues, and diagnosing them correctly is necessary as the disorder plays a very important role in your treatment.

Depression

Depression¬†is a scenario where the patient suffers from low mood and loathing to some activities further depressing person’s judgements, conduct, ability, emotions, and sense of well-being. Depression is an illusion, it plant lies in your head, make all the negative assumptions become a reality. But the person struggling cannot always see the lies. The believe over the voice in the head focusing on dark thoughts or leaving with the blues is tough to avoid. Anxiety

Whereas anxiety is an emotion regarded by emotions of tension, stress thoughts and substantial changes like increased blood pressure. It is important to note that when fighting anxiety it is beneficial to not think too much that enhance adrenalin rush or let the feeling of a victim overtake over you. Rather than fighting of, getting rid of it is more necessary.

Differentiation between both

The prospect of knowing exactly what you are suffering from would be rather great, depression or anxiety but that is not as simple as it sounds, in fact it is scientifically possible to suffer from both the disorders at once, as depression could be easily developed from untended anxiety circumstances. To identify it some of the primary symptoms are:

Primary Symptoms of Anxiety:

  • Over analysing everything happening and yet to happen.
  • Restlessness and constant worrying over something going wrong.
  • The constant feeling of running away from everything and anything causing slightest of trigger towards the anxiety.

Primary Symptoms of Depression:

  • The feeling of constant despair and hopelessness in the future.
  • Feeling like void and completely pessimistic for anything in life.
  • Suicidal tendencies.

Similarities between Anxiety and Depression

They both can contribute in the development of each other further increasing the risk. Both involve a considerable amount of negative thinking. Those suffering from anxiety consist to constantly fear the forthcoming while those with depression see the future as more bleak, both believe that the worst is prone to happen. They sometimes even have similar physical symptoms thus making it more complex to understand and differentiate, some of them including:

  • Nausea and stomach issues.
  • Aches and pains for no apparent reason.

The Path towards Recovery

The ability to be able to control them and cure them is what makes them similar as scientifically it is proven that with the proper medication and willpower the process of recovering increases at very fast pace, though the challenge is the unstable mindset that put a setback for strong determination to recover.
